NETWORK SERVICES

Local Area Networks (LAN):
TCP/IP is the most prevalent networking protocol in use today, both on the Internet and inside of most companies local networks. BoxTechs offers a complete solution for setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of your Local Area Network (LAN). Everything from routing, to security (IPSec), to Virtual LANs (VLAN), we can either get you up and running, or help you to rethink the layout so that your network runs more efficiently. Do you need to do some capacity planning, to accommodate for current and future growth? We have the tools and the know-how to get you there.

Wide Area Networks (WAN):
Need to connect a remote office to your network backbone? Or setup remote sales users to gain access to files on the internal network? Some companies have a need to connect satellite users and remote offices to their central network. With the cost of Internet connectivity going down by the day, it has become more cost effective to utilize some of the newer technologies, such as IPSec encryption with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnel, to link up these remote locations. The days of maintaining large banks of modems are over with the advent of high-speed Internet, such as Verizon FiOS and cable.

Wireless Networking:
Wireless networking technology, while still in its relative infancy, has become a viable solution to running traditional network cabling throughout an office. With current encryption techniques, you can safely and securely conduct daily business activities without the concern or worry that someone may be snooping around your network. While still best in smaller environments, from 5 to 200 computers, it is possible to run a wireless network for up to thousands of connections. Interested in finding out more? Firewalls:
If you have a network, and don’t have a proper firewall in place, your network could be available to hackers. How important is the security of your data? How important is the security of your data to your customers? A good firewall, along with good, strict networking policies, will keep out even the most tenacious of hackers. We service and install many different types of firewalls, but lean toward companies such as Watchguard, SonicWall, and Cisco. From small satellite offices, to large corporate networks, we can can provide you with a solution that gives peace of mind.

Proxy Servers:
Proxy servers are an “all-in-one” solution for firewall, Internet/network connectivity, web site blocking, and web site caching. They are typically used in environments where certain Internet web sites need to be made unavailable to employees, or to only allow access to sites that employees need to accomplish their job functions. Proxy servers are a good solution, when combined with proper computer security permission policies, for keeping your network locked down and safe from the many potential security risks that exist on the Internet.

Intrusion Detection:
Intrusion detection has become a true art in the computer networking field. There are many different ways to accomplish intrusion detection today, but is intrusion detection right for your company? If you have client data, or data that must remain secure on your internal network, a good intrusion detection system could be extremely valuable in preventing Internet hackers from exploiting your network.
